Book Refuge: books for the homeless

A resident of Lambeth has been named one of the ‘Top 100 Changemakers of 2020’ by the Big Issue for her role in making literature more accessible to those who have been made homeless. Through her project Book Refuge, more than 30 homeless services have received books to start their own mini-libraries, with many of these located in the Lambeth area.

Fees waived for EU citizens applying for settled status

Lambeth Council is supporting EU residents applying for settled status ahead of Brexit, with fee free identity document scanning for those applying to the government’s EU Settlement Scheme.

EU, EEA or Swiss citizens, and their families, living in the UK can apply to the EU Settlement Scheme to continue living in the UK after 30 June 2021. Successful applications result in either settled or pre-settled status.

Health and lifestyle services in Lambeth

There are a range of health and lifestyle services available to residents in Lambeth to improve their health and reduce their risk of developing a variety of diseases.

Lifestyle factors contribute hugely to poor health and whether it is becoming more physically active, stopping smoking, achieving a healthier weight, tackling diabetes or getting help and support with your mental health there is something for all residents in Lambeth.
