Cost of Living Crisis support

There was further devastating news yesterday Friday 26 August 2022 with the announcement by Ofgem, the energy regulator, that the household energy price cap will dramatically increase from £1971 to £3,549 from 1 October 2022. There is expected to be a further rise in January next year. For many people now will be the time to take stock and seek financial support in time for the winter.

The Lambeth Community Fund is now open for applications

Grants of up to £20,000 (over 24 months) are available through the Lambeth Community Fund, which focuses on improving the wellbeing and quality of life of Lambeth residents. Wellbeing covers a broad range of components that an individual needs to live a full and well-rounded life.

Lambeth Libraries and Environmental savings

Lambeth Libraries is one of 15 authorities to receive an award from the Green Libraries Grant Fund for a project running until the end of October. The project will show how an environmentally friendly lifestyle can also help save you money. 

Thames Water hosepipe ban

Thames Water have brought in a hosepipe ban (also known as a Temporary Use Ban) from Wednesday 24 August 2022.  

New train timetable

From Sunday 4 September 2022 there is a welcome increase in trains travelling through Crystal Palace, Gipsy Hill and West Norwood to both London Bridge and London Victoria. Services return to four trains per hour up to 8pm (Monday-Friday) rather than the two per hour that has applied since the end of lockdown.

Norwood Road resurfacing and other works

We continue to work with the Council on the arrangements for the forthcoming highway resurfacing works along Norwood Road from Herne Hill station to Robson Road, West Norwood. The first section from Herne Hill was completed last year, and the next section has now been scheduled to run from Wednesday 31 August to Friday 2 September 2022 (9:30pm-6am):
