Safer Streets for Schools

As first reported in the Norwood Forum's second Community Conversation Lambeth Council is introducing timed road closures at a number of local schools: School Streets.

In a recent newsletter we reported on the birth of West Norwood FC (WNFC) in 1895 and their home at High View Park ground near the present day Royal Circus). Now in part two of their article, our friends from the Norwood Society report on the international tours undertaken by the club. It is hard today to contemplate such exploits by an amateur club.

It has been a year like no other, and a year which has had a major impact on Black communities, be it through the disproportionate impact suffered from Covid or the welling up of emotion and anger over the killing of George Floyd in America and the subsequent Black Lives Matter movement here.

Have your say on plans to design the new Brixton customer centre

Lambeth Council wants your views on their proposals to design the new customer centre at the Lambeth Civic Centre in Brixton to provide a new face to face service specifically for those who cannot, or who find it very difficult, to access council services online or by phone. The independent Local Government Boundary Commission England is asking for residents’ help to create a new pattern of electoral wards in Lambeth. The current consultation launched on 14 July with an online briefing and will run until 21 September 2020.
