Covid-19 tier two travel advice from London Transport

Here is the latest travel advice from London Transport to help everyone make the most of London's shops, businesses and venues in the run up to Christmas.

"We are here to get you where you need to go, but it's important that everyone continues to follow Government guidance on how to keep everyone safe. 

West Norwood Conservation Area

DEADLINE EXTENDED: Sunday 28 March 2021
Lambeth Council is consulting on a draft West Norwood Conservation Area Character Appraisal and proposed extended conservation area boundaries. The existing conservation area encompasses the whole of the Cemetery, and amongst the proposals are extensions of this area to cover properties to the north, east, south and west. Grants available from Thrale charity for SE27 organisations helping out with the COVID response

The Thrale Charity grant programme for 2020 has just opened. For this year the charity is specifically focusing their grant giving on organisations helping with the impact of COVID – whether through helping to promote health and wellbeing, or alleviating economic and social hardship caused by the pandemic. More money is available this year than in the past - £50,000 in total. Like last year, Thrale are hoping that lots of organisations from SE27 will apply. Applications will be especially welcome from organisations which have not applied for a grant from Thrale before.

National Tree Week

This week is National Tree Week - running until Sunday 6 December 2020. Tree Week is promoted by the Tree Council as the UK’s largest annual tree celebration and to mark the start of the winter tree planting season (November to March each year). This year, as for most things in 2020, events and activities are a little different than usual.

Gipsy Hill community Christmas Tree

We are pleased to hear that the Friends of Gipsy Hill’s fundraiser for their first community Christmas tree has successfully met its target. The tree represents light shining out in the dark evenings and a focal point to bring the community together. read more about the tree of hope here on the Friends website.
