The Empowering Women Fund

In response to the ongoing impact of Covid-19, the Solace Women’s Aid Empowering Women Fund aims to fill a gap in support for organisations that are supporting women to recover from problems exacerbated by the pandemic. The scheme will provide funding to support small women’s groups and organisations to develop innovative ways of empowering women in their local area and build their capacity. It is divided into two strands and grants can run for up to 12 months:

Power of Festival: Photography Competition

The Power Of Festival, in partnership with leading camera equipment company Nikon and creative street advertising agency Jack, have launched a nationwide competition to find emerging black British photography talent, who capture what the Power Of Black Identity represents to them.

On Hand – community referrals

On Hand is a digital platform of local volunteers who specialise in supporting local residents who need general support due to health, ability or isolation reasons.

NHS – Brixton pop-up covid vaccination clinic

The NHS in Lambeth will be running a pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinic at Brixton Library this Sunday 25 April from 12noon - 5pm. For anyone aged 45 or over and people aged 30-44 in an "at risk" group. If you do not have a GP, you can register on the day. All information in this flyer:

Front Line Online: series of free digital workshops.

The Old Vic has an upcoming project that will be of interest to people living in or near Lambeth aged 19-30 years, who are looking to develop the skills needed to apply for the job they want, in any industry. It is a series of free digital workshops (and in person, if possible). The deadline to apply is the 14 May2021.

Have your say on Lambeth's Voluntary Community Sector Asset Strategy

Lambeth Council wants your views on proposals to introduce a Voluntary Community Sector (VCS) Asset Strategy. The consultation runs from 15 March to 25 April 2021. Voluntary sector organisations currently occupy a wide range of Council-owned buildings with different groups paying a large variation in fees and charges.
