The Council has now published its plans to introduce the ward-wide Streatham Wells Low Traffic Neighbourhood in September/October 2023. The scheme has been amended a little from the original proposals to reflect some comments received during the in-ward consultation exercise. LTNs are introduced on an 18 month trial basis, and this allows the implementation to be tested in practice.
The works along Norwood Road were largely undertaken earlier this month in accordance with the programme. We chased and Lambeth Council advised us last week that the wet weather had prevented the completion of the anti-skid surface laying at the diagonal crossing (York Hill/Lancaster Avenue). There will now be further night time works on Wednesday night 20 September 2023: 10:00pm until 6:00am.

The pandemic has put additional pressure on the lives and education of these disadvantaged young people and further exacerbated this attainment gap and inequality. Digital poverty has been a big barrier to young people’s access to and full participation in education.
