The Southbank Academy is a fully funded, FREE, entry-level training course in technical production running 11 - 29 March 2024 for London-based people who are 18+, with little to no experience.
Everyone's welcome and they especially want to hear from applicants who are poorly represented in the creative industries and technical production - people who identify as female, non-binary, Black, Asian and Ethnically Diverse, or come from low socio-economic backgrounds.
The course is a hands-on three-week introduction to working behind-the-scenes in theatres and concert venues - at Southbank Centre and their partner venues across London. From setting stages to rigging lights and loading trucks, participants will learn new skills and find out if a career in Production is for them. The course will end with a mock interview and support to take next steps.
A London living wage grant will be paid to every participant and all London transport costs are covered. Lunch, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and all tools needed on the course will also be provided.
