New support to help people live independently

Lambeth Council has introduced a new ‘Help for Independent Living’ platform for elderly and disabled people to help make everyday life easier and support people to stay comfortably in their own homes for longer.

Advice from NHS about strike action

Junior Doctors are on strike from Saturday 24 – Wednesday 28 February 2024 and the NHS advise that hospitals will be under a lot of pressure again. They advise:

In 2024, Lambeth Council is installing over £6 million of sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) to help reduce surface water flood risk across the borough. Over the next couple of months, the SuDS team will engage with local residents of some of the schemes to get their opinions.

Norwood Public Transport - part one

Norwood has 13 bus routes running through or on the boundary of the area. We have three night bus services and the Superloop 6 (previously the 68X) has recently been introduced. Tulse Hill, Gipsy Hill and West Norwood rail stations are within our area, West Dulwich just outside and at least three more stations are within reasonable walking distance for some people. Brixton station for London Underground services and Denmark Hill and Crystal Palace for London Overground are a short cycle or bus or train ride away.

Health & Social Care Business Programme

There is a new free support programme for new businesses and startups (can be self-employed) in the Health and Social Care sector in the London Boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark.
