Harpenden Road pocket garden

Norwood Forum committee members joined local gardeners to spruce up the circular bed on the corner of Harpenden and Norwood Roads.  Previously the space had been used as a private car park until it was converted by the Streetworks team into a green space maintained by the community.  Hopefully for drivers stuck at the temporary lights this will prove a pleasant distraction.  If anyone would like to adopt the bed and tend it on a regular basis do let us know: info@norwoodforum.org.

Norwood Forum has been working with Lambeth Council and Open Orchard to identify planting opportunities to increase the number of trees in our area. The Forum is pleased that Lambeth Council is now funding the provision of new tree pits and street trees where pavements and roads are being renewed as part of their “Highways Improvement Scheme”.

Norwood Road water mains works: important update

Norwood Forum has received a copy of the information letter being sent to all local residents (dated October 2019). We hope to be able to post more regular updates on progress with the works, dependent upon information being received from Thames Water in a timely manner.

Around half of the new water pipe has now been laid, but Thames Water have amended the previously announced order of the works in the run up to Christmas:

Become a Community Connector

Community Connectors are local people who link others in their local community with activities and organisations that can help improve their quality of life. Lots of people in Lambeth do this naturally on a daily basis in unpaid capacities with no training or formal support, whilst others do it as part of a structured volunteering role in local community organisations.
