Kingswood House is just over the borough boundary in Southwark a short walk from Gipsy Hill town centre. Southwark Council is conducting a survey on its future use. The Council suggests the building has the potential to host a broader mix of uses including workspaces and other activities such as business spaces to generate income to help support the running costs of the House.
Southwark Council is keen to see Kingswood House become a vibrant centre of activity for people who live, work or visit the area. They want your views, ideas and aspirations on how they can make best use of this historic building and also on how the library service and youth provision could be improved. Complete the survey here by Sunday, 28 February 2021.
Kingswood House is currently a community centre and library, also used for conferences, meetings, and civil marriages. Built as a Victorian mansion, it later became the home of John Lawson Johnston, the inventor of Bovril, who is buried in West Norwood Cemetery.
