Rathbone Society Inspiring Learning Mentors

A significant number of children and young people in Lambeth are from refugee and asylum-seeking families. The pandemic has put additional pressure on the lives and education of these disadvantaged young people and further exacerbated this attainment gap and inequality. Digital poverty has been a big barrier to young people’s access to and full participation in education.

West Norwood Cemetery NHLF works: spring 2024 update

We last reported in the autumn 2023 on progress with the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) project at West Norwood Cemetery which seeks to conserve the Cemetery’s magnificent landscape and built structures, as well as offer new experiences and facilities to increase community use. Following a meeting of the Implementation Board on Friday 19 April, will can now report an update.

St Martin-In-The Fields High School for Girls

It has been reported that the 300-year-old St Martin-In-The Fields High School for Girls on Tulse Hill is to become a therapeutic centre for vulnerable pupils run by the Oasis charity.

High Trees are hosting their first Lambeth Charity Networking Event, which is open to everyone working for not-for-profit organisations in Lambeth.

Dulwich Festival 2024

This year's Dulwich Festival runs from Friday 10 May to Sunday 19 May. At the moment few events are listed for our area, but there are a number of walks and other events that may be of interest. The festival incorporates Artists Open House. 

Fortnightly black bin collections starts on 15 April 2024

Further to our earlier stories, a reminder that from Monday 15 April, black bin rubbish collections will take place every two weeks. The final weekly collection will be in the week commencing 8 April. Your green recycling bin, food waste bin and garden waste bag (if you subscribe to the garden waste service) will still be emptied every week

Health & Wellbeing Grants for Tulse Hill organisations

High Trees in partnership with Lambeth Council has launched a new grants and capacity building support programme for Tulse Hill organisations to set up or scale health and wellbeing activities for local residents.
