We're Right Here: community champion opportunity

Moving into an election year that is dominated by ever tighter public budgets and overlapping environmental, healthcare and poverty crises, there is an enormous need to ramp up calls for community power. To do this We're Right Here aim to build on the work of  brilliant community leaders by involving more people from a diverse range of places and communities in their campaign. This is why they are now recruiting 10-12 ‘Community Champions’.

Leigham Vale: temporary closure

Due to necessary sewer works, Leigham Vale will be partially closed to traffic (except for access) from 29 March 2024 at least up to 26 April 2024, and perhaps longer if there is a need to extend the works.

Use your voice to improve health and care in Lambeth!

Go to the next Lambeth Together Public Forum next Thursday (21 March 2024) from 1pm to 2pm at Lambeth Town Hall or online. Join to share ideas and influence the way local services are run. Whether you’re studying, working or living in Lambeth, your voice matters.

Streatham Wells LTN suspended

There has been much concern over the considerable traffic delays along the main A23 through Streatham town centre, and the resultant extensive delays to bus journeys. Much commentary in recent weeks has blamed the implementation of the Streatham Wells LTN in October 2023.

Community and Lambeth Council newsletters: March 2024

The Lambeth Libraries latest newsletter includes World Book Day, and two events at West Norwood Library: Zine Club: make a zine with your baby and Math Explorers Launch. Also, West Norwood Picturehouse has a screening of the award-winning documentary film Kimpa Vita: The Mother of the African Revolution produced and directed by Ne Kunda Nlaba who will be present for a Q&A session.

Easter egg campaign

Access Self Storage has launched its Easter egg campaign and is asking our local community to donate Easter Eggs in aid of The Felix Project (a food redistribution charity fighting food waste and hunger in London) and FareShare.

After a costly building project, the South London Botanical Institute has launched a time limited match funding drive for two weeks only.

New support to help people live independently

Lambeth Council has introduced a new ‘Help for Independent Living’ platform for elderly and disabled people to help make everyday life easier and support people to stay comfortably in their own homes for longer.
