lambeth readers and writers’ festival 2026

The Lambeth Council annual readers and writers’ festival is back on at Lambeth libraries this May and June with a programme full of events for you to enjoy, including true and fictional storytelling, book clubs, a local author book fair, children and school events and more. 

Recycle your tin foil

You should now put your clean tin foil and tin takeaway trays, and yoghurt etc pot lids, in your green bin for recycling by Lambeth Council.

Register to vote in the local council elections

The local council elections are on Thursday 7 May 2026. If you want to vote, you must be registered. You can apply online to register to vote. It is quick and easy to do and the deadline is fast approaching: Monday 20 April.

Brockwell Lido: management transfer to Lambeth Council

Following a prolonged period of financial difficulty, Fusion Lifestyle, the operator of Brockwell Lido, fell into receivership on 1 April 2026. Lambeth Council has announced it has secure the Lido's future by taking over its management from 1 July.
