It is with deep sadness that after 55 years of serving our community, Centre 70 is closing its doors on Wednesday 17th December.
'This festive season, make a positive difference in your community by buying a present from our wishlist for a local sanctuary-seeking child to ensure they can enjoy some Christmas cheer.
Resident doctors have confirmed that they will take strike action from Wednesday 17 December to Monday 22 December, a move expected to place significant strain on local hospitals.
Lambeth Council has completed improvement works at two playgrounds in the borough, with upgrades delivered at both Norwood Park in West Norwood and Max Roach Park in Brixton as part of its wider programme of investment in parks and green spaces.
We last reported in March 2025 on progress with the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) project at West Norwood Cemetery and on other issues. The objectives of the NHLF project were to conserve the Cemetery’s magnificent landscape and built structures, as well as offer new experiences and facilities to increase community use. Following a meeting of the cemetery Strategic Partnership Board (SPB) on 8 October 2025 we can now provide an update on the project and other issues.
As part of our environmental story-a-day during COP30 in Brazil, we highlighted this community campaign for better connectivity between West Dulwich, Dulwich Village and Herne Hill.
04.12.25 Update
We are pleased to report that with the completion of the resurfacing works, Knight's Hill was reopened this morning. Buses through West Norwood town centre are running as normal in both directions.
Lambeth Council is inviting residents to take part in a new survey aimed at gathering views on the borough’s recycling, rubbish and street-cleaning services.
