Wild Norwood: Glowing Cemetery

Join us for a final Wild Norwood festive event in the cemetery with stalls hosting all kinds of activities with something for all ages to enjoy, along with Morris Dancing from the Tatterjack Morris and carol singing - all lit with fairy lights. This event is run in partnership with our good friends South London Botanical Institute. They cannot run their usual 'Glowing Garden', so in collaboration with West Norwood Cemetery National Lottery Fund project we are running a 'Glowing Cemetery' instead! All the activities are FREE - just drop-in for some festive fun - you cant miss us for all the fairy lights just inside on the cemetery forecourt.

Earlier in the day there is our final Wild Norwood guided walk: Trees and the Afterlife - places are limited, so though this is free, booking is essential. Info here.

And after our 'Glowing Cemetery' is over at 6pm - we have an extra special evening event inside the cemetery itself: Winter Fairytales. We will begin at 6.30pm with a lantern lit procession through the cemetery (make yours at home or on our special lantern making stall earlier), ending up at the chapel where we will settle down inside in the warm to listen to some magical winter stories. Then, before we leave (weather permitting), we will go outside to do some star-gazing. Numbers are limited, so please follow this link for more info and to book your places.

As with just about everything we run in the cemetery, nothing is age specific - but for the Winter Fairytales we suggest its most appropriate for little ones 5yrs and over. Wrap up warm!

When: Sunday 10 December 2023; 2:00pm - 6:00pm

Where: West Norwood Cemetery, Norwood Rd, West Norwood, London SE27 9JU

Further info.: Follow the links above to book for specific events, but for the festive fair - please just drop-in!
