Deeds of Dedication for Lambeth Parks

Lambeth Council is working with Fields in Trust to secure Deeds of Dedication for five of Lambeth’s largest parks: Kennington Park, Norwood Park, Larkhall Park, Myatt’s Fields Park and Ruskin Park. This follows on from earlier Deeds of Dedication for Brockwell Park and Holmewood Gardens.

The purpose of the Deeds of Dedication is to demonstrate a desire to ensure these parks are protected in perpetuity.

Help to decide new locations for Lambeth’s polling stations

Lambeth Council is now seeking the views of residents on the locations for polling stations in the borough as well as on on the boundaries of polling districts. This review is as a result of the changes made to ward boundaries by the Local Government Boundary Commission; Lambeth’s electoral wards increased from 21 to 25. Locally, there are now four wards instead of three. The formal consultation went live on 29 October and closes for comments on 30 November 2021.

West Norwood Cemetery HLF works: the next phase

Operations are now underway on the next phase of the drains/kerbs/path works at Lower Road, Narrow Road and Reddins Hill. An access route for motorists from the main entrance to the Rose Garden and Greek Cemetery (the north east corner of the Cemetery) is being maintained, and pedestrians will need to also follow the signposted route, or possibly find a more direct route by walking carefully through the graves and monuments north of Lower Road.

It is good to see the progress made since the summer with the drainage and path works in West Norwood Cemetery. These civil engineering works are the initial works on the ground under the Heritage Lottery Fund programme (see our previous story here), along with some restoration of protected monuments (see below).
