Norwood Road: Latest on the current road works

Further to our earlier story here, this has been a fast moving situation with the trench works (outside West Norwood Co op) planned to begin on Monday (to coincide with half term), actually beginning on Saturday.
We have brought pressure to bear on Lambeth and the contractor and the following covers the latest information we have:

Street parties

Street Parties are a wonderful tradition and a great way to get to know your neighbours and celebrate your local community. In 2023 there will be many reasons to come together: The Coronation of King Charles III (6 May 2023), Car Free Day (22 September 2023) or just finding a day that everyone in the street can come together.

Jobs at Kingswood Arts

Wedding & events staff are currently being sought by Kingswood Arts, paying London Living Wage (£11.95 p/h); casual work.

South London Theatre

Lots now underway at the South London Theatre, with their first production of 2023 kicking off today Tuesday 7 February 2023: Chaos.

Norwood Road resurfacing and road markings February update

We are pleased to report the near completion of the resurfacing and road remarking works along Norwood Road from Chestnut Road to Avenue Park Road over the period Monday 13 January to Friday 21 January 2023. This is the final major element of the Streetworks project to improve our public realm, first begun in 2015, and kickstarted in 2021 by Norwood Forum.
