We’re off to the theatre tonight – after #Clapforourcarers - the 8pm celebration of our NHS etc staff - see story here.
The Original Theatre Company's production of The Habit of Art can be viewed online at 8:15pm. The play gained five star reviews when it toured the UK in 2018, and was due to reopen in the UK then New York, before the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.
The play-within-a-play was written by Alan Bennett in 2009, and centres on a fictional rendezvous between poet WH Auden and composer Benjamin Britten. In The Habit of Art, Matthew Kelly is Fitz (the actor playing Auden), while David Yelland is the actor Henry (himself playing composer Benjamin Britten).
Book your slot and view here; a donation of at least £2:50 is sought. The Croft (the stories of three women from different eras and set in the remote Scottish Highlands) will be broadcast tomorrow Friday at 7:30pm so its possible to watch both for £5 – much less than a gin & tonic at the theatre. And no need to book a babysitter or an Uber!
We know there is a host of online entertainment out there – let us know your favourites.
