This year’s Lambeth Readers and Writers Festival runs from Monday 29 April to Sunday 23 June with a programme of inspirational literary events throughout the Borough. Its good to see a big increase in local events:
- Friday 17 May 2019 3:30pm and 7pm: Staying Well – Lambeth Older Men’s Drama Project at West Norwood Library 1-5 Norwood High Street SE27 9JX
- Saturday 18 May 2019 3-4:30pm: Weronika Mliczewska: author talk and film shorts at West Norwood Library 1-5 Norwood High Street SE27 9JX
- Wednesday 29 May 2019 7pm: How Hard Can it Be? Special menopause reading group West Norwood Library 1-5 Norwood High Street SE27 9JX
- Thursday 13 June 2019 10:30am (limited places): Meet Alex Weatle; the award winning YA author discusses his latest novel Home Girl at West Norwood Library 1-5 Norwood High Street SE27 9JX
- Saturday 22 June 2019 3:30-5:30pm: Screening of The Stuart Hall Project with post film discussion at West Norwood Library & Picturehouse 1-5 Norwood High Street SE27 9JX
There is a series of children’s events:
- Saturday 25 May 2019: Elmer Day at all Lambeth Libraries (see local library for details)
- w/c 3 June 2019: Pyjamarama at most Lambeth Libraries (see local library for details)
- Tuesday 11 June 2019: Empathy Day at all Lambeth Libraries (see local library for details)
- Followed later by the Summer Reading Challenge from Saturday 13 July
Also a photographic exhibition runs 1 – 31 May (all opening hours) at West Norwood Library 1-5 Norwood High Street SE27 9JX:
Polish Community Portraits by Urszula Soltys (who confronts the Polish stereotypes) and Anna Dawid (portraits of the youngest generation of Poles).
