The Bechdel Sound Test is back at The Book & Record Bar, West Norwood, after a successful International Women's Day launch in 2018. This time its for a Weekender Fest and will be raising money for Bloody Good Period.
Unlike most club nights, all genres are allowed from Indie, Disco to Hip Hop & Grime. Think Kate Bush, Missy Elliot, Sonic Youth, Abba, Patti Smith, Kathleen Hanna and you’re on the right track. The Bechdel Sound Test pride themselves on providing a friendly, non -judgmental environment where everyone is welcome.
They're hosting an opening party on International Women's Day (Friday 8 March) featuring Emma Jackson (Ex Kenickie), Max Tundra and Kath Gifford (Ex Stereolab).
Saturday’s line up features a diverse range of the finest female and non-binary music talent including Xylo Aria (Downtempo Experimental R&B), Art Trip & The Static Sound (Feminist Psychedelic Acid Punk) and Jemma Freeman & The Cosmic Something (Cosmic Epic Alternative Rock.

There will also be other fringe events happening at West Norwood Picturehouse including a film screening of Skate Kitchen and feminist book readings for children.
