AI is already changing how we learn, work, communicate and create. Symphony are working with girls and young women to have the confidence, skills and opportunity to help shape that future.
Across five practical and creative days, students will take an idea from its very first spark to a working AI prototype:
Day 1 - Discovery: explore the foundations of AI, understand hallucinations and discover how AI can be used to solve a problem.
Day 2 - Design: decide who the product is for, design its interface and write the instructions that will guide the AI.
Day 3 - Build: bring the idea to life by building an AI agent using Replit.
Day 4 - Test and Refine: stress-test the product for bias and errors, exchange feedback and make it stronger.
Day 5 - Present: showcase the finished work through a live demonstration for peers, mentors and guests.
Every student will leave with:
- A working AI prototype she has designed herself
- A certificate
- The experience of presenting her own creation
- An introduction to careers including data science, ethics, UX design and product management
No previous coding experience is required. There will be additional guidance for students who need it, as well as stretch challenges for those ready to move further.
This is more than a coding course. It is a supportive space where young people can ask bold questions, test ideas, build confidence and begin to imagine themselves within one of the most important fields shaping our world.
