A Sister’s Story is coming to West Norwood on Friday 23 October, bringing together Black history, family archives, music, fashion and live performance in a celebration of heritage, identity and community.
Taking place at St Martin’s Oasis Village, the event will explore the stories, memories and experiences passed down through generations, and how they continue to shape the culture and communities of today.
Part family album, part archive and part live showcase, A Sister’s Story invites people to think about the history that exists within their own families. From old photographs and treasured documents to the stories told by parents and grandparents, the project highlights how personal memories form an important part of our shared history.
Through photography, film, fashion, music, performance and storytelling, the event aims to bring different generations together, celebrating both the heritage we inherit and the culture we continue to create.
The project is built around three themes: identity, community and opportunity. As well as looking back at the past, it seeks to create new connections and opportunities for creative collaboration.

The organisers are also inviting local creatives, performers, volunteers, businesses and community organisations to contribute to the project. They are keen to hear from potential partners and sponsors, as well as anyone interested in helping bring these stories to life.
A Sister’s Story takes place on Friday 23 October 2026, from 6pm to 9pm, at St Martin’s Oasis Village.
