Lambeth Overview and Scrutiny Committee meeting

The Lambeth Overview and Scrutiny Committee will meet on Monday 21 September at 7pm, with several agenda items of interest to local residents.

The committee will consider:

  • New Homes Programme and delivery of new homes – including the development of the new Local Plan, delivering new homes in partnership with the private sector, and plans and finances for directly constructing new council homes.
  • Lambeth’s Active Leisure Strategy – including progress on the strategy, initiatives to improve health outcomes for residents, and the transfer of management of leisure centres from Better to Active Lambeth.
  • Events Policy and Strategy – including plans for events in the borough’s parks, balancing community benefits with residents’ concerns, consultation on a new events policy, and potential options and costs for bringing back the Lambeth Country Show.
  • Scrutiny Review Report and Action Plan – consideration of the recommendations and action plan arising from the council’s scrutiny review.

Members of the public can watch the meeting online via the council’s meeting page. Limited places are also available to attend in person, on a first come, first served basis. Anyone wishing to attend in person should contact Democratic Services at Democracy@lambeth.gov.uk beforehand.

Residents who wish to make representations on an item must contact Democratic Services by 12pm on Friday 18 September. Ward Councillors can also be contacted directly to represent residents’ views at the meeting.

Members of the public are welcome to attend council and committee meetings, although they may only speak when invited to do so by the Chair.
