Lambeth Council election results 2026

After a marathon election count at the Kia Oval over 12 hours on Friday 8 May and then almost a further six hours the next day, the full Lambeth Council election results have been decided and are now published here on the Lambeth website.

The overall position is:

Green: 29 seats

Labour/Labour and Co-operative: 26 seats

Liberal Democrats: 8 seats

So with the Green Party finishing just three seats short of a majority, the Council is currently in no overall control. No doubt discussions were being held between the parties over the weekend.

Locally, the following Councillors will serve our four local wards:
Gipsy Hill: Pete Elliot and Chloe Hawryluk (both Green)
Knight’s Hill: Elizabeth Fraser, Lisa Schulkind and Matt Wilcock (all Green)
St. Martin’s: Georgina Berriman (Labour) and Jeremy Isaacs (Green)
West Dulwich: Judith Cavanagh (Labour) and Tom Palmer (Green)

We welcome back Judith Cavanagh and Pete Elliot to the Council and also welcome all the newly elected Councillors:
Georgina Berriman
Elizabeth Fraser
Chloe Hawryluk
Jeremy Isaacs
Tom Palmer
Lisa Schulkind
Matt Wilcock

The Norwood Forum Committee looks forward to working with them all and to hearing more about their priorities. We will be inviting them to meet the local community at our Norwood Green Day and AGM on Saturday 13 June at West Norwood Library & Picturehouse - info here

We want to thank Pete Elliot and Tom Palmer who have been serving on the Norwood Forum committee over the past year. We look forward to working with them in a different capacity, and hope to collaborate with and be critical friends to all our new councillors over the next four years.

The Annual Meeting of the new Council is on Wednesday 27 May 2026 and by then we should learn how the Council will be governed until May 2030.

Lastly, we would like to offer our heartfelt thanks for their service to all the outgoing councillors, whether they had decided not to stand again or were not re-elected:
Ibtisam Adem
Christine Banton
Fred Cowell
Olga Fitzroy
Saleha Jaffer
Jackie Meldrum
Emma Nye
Rebecca Spencer

We will miss them all, but especially the long-serving councillors - Fred Cowell who served from 2014 the former Thurlow Park ward and then the West Dulwich ward, Saleha Jaffer who served from 2014 the former Tulse Hill ward and then St. Martin’s ward, and particularly Jackie Meldrum who has served as a Knight’s Hill ward councillor for an incredible 20 years.
All have been stalwart friends of, and source of advice for, Norwood Forum.
We wish them well.
