Around 20 community members attended Norwood Forum's new Green Norwood sub-committee's first public meeting this week to review past work and build our plans for local actions around five priority areas:
- Green Energy
- Green Spaces
- Reduce, Reuse and Recycle
- Air Quality
- Green Jobs and Training
A wide range of possible work was identified that could achieve positive and sustainable environmental change in our community, including everything from planting edible nut and fruit trees, to installing solar panels on public buildings.
It was a lively meeting, with lots of exchanges of ideas. It was testament to the knowledge and expertise contained within our community and exactly the start we were looking for to steer the Green Norwood project forwards. More details will be published once participants' suggestions have been gathered and written up.
Norwood Forum's Green sub-committee is extremely thankful to everyone who gave up their time, including local Councillors, Lambeth officers, members of local charities and organisations, and of course, all our neighbours and friends.
Anyone who wants to get involved is welcome to join. This is all about connections, creating a vibrant network to share ideas and get involved in local projects. We'd be so grateful for a few minutes of your time to complete this short survey about your 'green' priorities.
