Black History Month returns this October with a wide range of events celebrating African and Caribbean heritage, history and culture across Lambeth. This year’s programme includes talks, performances, exhibitions and community activities led by Lambeth Libraries and local organisations.
Two family events are being held at West Norwood Library:
- Meet Author Dola Amodu: The Story Behind Destiny - Join the Chatterbooks Reading Group to hear from Dola Amodu, a new author inspired to write for her grandchildren.
- Create Your Own Poetry Bookmark - Celebrate iconic Black poets such as Benjamin Zephaniah and Grace Nichols by designing a bookmark based on their work.
Both events are free to attend. Explore the Black History Month events programme here.
