​The Arriva Group has announced the completion of a £17m electrification project at its Norwood Depot in South London, delivered in partnership with fleet electrification specialist Zenobē.

The upgrade includes new charging facilities as well as upgrades to the site’s power infrastructure to support 30 new Alexander Dennis Enviro400EVs for use on two Transport for London (TfL) routes recently awarded to Arriva, including a new Superloop line which connects London’s suburbs with the capital’s centre. The investment is part of a wider electrification programme for Arriva’s UK Bus operations in London, including depots at Croydon, Enfield, Palmers Green, Tottenham and Thornton Heath, supported by Arriva’s Zero Emission Institute which is working with its operating companies at depots across the UK and mainland Europe, sharing best practice and acting as a hub for knowledge and expertise.
