Shakespeare in Lambeth - a talk by Jon Newman

Ever thought Shakespeare’s plays could use a bit more excitement? If so, you’re on the same page as the South Bank theatre impresarios of the early 1800s. Lambeth Borough Archivist Jon Newman is preparing a new talk for PRA, based on his recent exhibition. Imagine Othello on horseback, Macbeth with a chorus of 50 singing witches, or tragic death scenes paired with raucous comedy routines. You couldn’t make it up!
