Darning Workshop

LEARN TO DARN

Darning is a timeless technique that has unfortunately faded from popular use, but this two hour darning workshop aims to help you extend the life of your favourite garments and keep them out of landfill.

Not only is darning a valuable and practical skill, but it’s also a soothing craft that you can easily do at home, offering a wonderful way to unwind from our busy lives while making more mindful choices about our clothing.

In this workshop, Madeline Tanoto from @madsdoandmend will guide you through both visible and invisible darning techniques to repair your beloved woollens. You’ll receive hands-on instruction and learn about the various tools and materials you can use to continue practicing darning at home.

All materials for the workshop will be provided, but please bring a woollen item in need of repair - such as a wool jumper, cardigan with moth holes, or a pair of worn-out woolly socks - that you can mend during the session.

When: Saturday 25 January 2025, 11am - 1pm
Where: Bell House, 27 College Road, SE21 7BG
