Lambeth Council will be collecting real Christmas trees for free. They can be put out for collection from 6 January 2025.
Collection from your home
To get your real Christmas tree collected, leave it next to your bins on your collection day.
You must:
- remove your tree from any pot you may have
- remove all decorations, as these cannot be recycled
- Trees take up a lot of space, so we can only collect a limited number each day.
If your tree is not collected, please take it back in and leave it next to your bins again on your next collection day.
Estates
If you live on an estate, please leave your real Christmas tree by the bin areas or bulky waste collection areas.
Take it to a recycling site
You can also book a slot to take your tree to one of our recycling sites:
- Smugglers Way Recycling Centre
- Vale Street Reuse and Recycling Centre
- Alternatively, you can bring your real Christmas trees to the collection point in Clapham Common, off Windmill Drive.
Please note: If your usual collection day is a Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, in the Christmas and New Year weeks your collection will be the next day, e.g. Friday's collection will be on Saturday
