West Norwood Free Film Festival

This year for Hallowe’en week, West Norwood Free Film Festival is bringing four free screenings (or … screamings?) to three different venues in West Norwood between 31 October and 2 November. This is what they say:

'This will be our most ambitious event since 2019. It comes after a successful volunteer drive this autumn -but we’re always keen to hear from more people who could get involved!

With a passion for community film screenings, we’ve been part of this network of volunteer-powered Free Film Festivals since 2017. During three major pre-Covid festivals, WNFFF established close links with local businesses and a history of screening cool films in unusual settings, such as the Clockworks Museum and West Norwood Cemetery.

Since the pandemic forced us to cancel our planned 2020 festival, we’ve been able to offer West Norwood only occasional screenings. These have been at one of three venues:

  • St Luke’s, West Norwood’s oldest church
  • Sole Luna, a family-run Italian bistro
  • or the atmospheric chapel at West Norwood Cemetery.

About half of our screenings are currently family-friendly (suitable for all ages).'
