We have received notification from Lambeth Council of two sets of overnight highway works which will necessitate road closures:
West Norwood town centre: from 10:00pm Monday 4 March to 6:00am Tuesday 5 March 2024:Norwood Road closed from Chestnut Road to Ullswater Road to enable the laying of the anti-skid surface for the diagonal crossing at the Norwood Road/York Hill/Lancaster Avenue junction. Some relining works between the road closure and the South Circular will also be completed.
The following bus diversions will be in place:
Route 2 - diverted via Christchurch Road, Streatham Hill, Leigham Court Road, Crown Lane, Crown Dale, Elder Road to line of route.
Route N2 - diverted via Christchurch Road, Streatham Hill, Leigham Court Road, Crown Lane, Crown Dale to line of route.
Routes 196, 432, 468 and N68 - will be diverted via Christchurch Road, Streatham Hill, Leigham Court Road, Crown Lane, Beulah Hill before returning to line of route
Routes 68 - terminate on Christchurch Road.
Route 315 - diverted via Leigham Court Road, Crown Lane and Knights Hill in both directions.
Route 322 - diverted via Croxted Road, South Croxted Road and Gipsy Road in both directions.
Route 415 - not affected
Southbound road traffic will be diverted via Christchurch Road, Streatham Hill, Leigham Court Road, Crown Dale and Knight's Hill, with northbound traffic following a similar route but in reverse.
Note: we heard on 4 March that these works had been postponed to an as yet unknown date.
Crown Dale between Tivoli Road and Salter’s Hill: from 9:00pm Monday 18 March to 6:00am Thursday 21 March 2024:
Crown Dale closed for highway improvements including removal of existing tarmac carriageway and laying a new tarmac surface. Elder Road (between Stable Mews and the junction with Crown Dale) and Central Hill (between Salter’s Hill and Elder Road) will also be closed, and the one-way in Woodend will be suspended to allow for access and egress on this road.
The following bus diversions will be in place:
Bus Routes 432 and N2 - diverted via Norwood Road, Robson Road, Park Hall Road, South Croxted Road, Dulwich Wood Park, Crystal Palace Parade and Anerley Hill. Alternative diversion will be via Knights Hill, Beulah Hill, Upper Beulah Hill and Church Road.
Bus route 417- diverted via Crown Lane, Knight's Hill, Norwood Road, Robson Road,Park Hall Road, South Croxted Road, Dulwich Wood Park, Crystal Palace Parade and Anerley Hill. Alternative diversion will be via Knight's Hill, Beulah Hill, Upper Beulah Hill and Church Road.

The Council has delivered full explanatory letters to local residents, including advice on what to do if you have special requirements or need to arrange access for people with disabilities,and the parking of vehicles.
