The Friends of West Norwood Cemetery AGM will be followed by a lecture by Dr Brian Parsons who will talk about the new edition of London Cemeteries: An Illustrated Guide and Gazetteer which is now a standard reference work. First published in 1981 and originally compiled by Hugh Meller on his own, this book has become a classic guide to the cemeteries of Greater London. The new edition covers over 2,000 biographies and over 230 illustrations. These include many archive images and those illustrating memorials which are now lost. Copies of the book, which is published by The History Press at the anticipated price of £25, will be available for purchase.
