After some considerable pressure to be kept more in the loop on the new Lambeth Kerbside Strategy project, the Lambeth Forum Network (of which Norwood Forum is a member) had a briefing two weeks ago from the Kerbside Team on a new initiative to do with walking routes.
They are looking to enhance the walking/wheeling (by this they mean wheelchairs not cycles or scooters) experience for residents in Lambeth on 5 different borough roads (as a pilot). A key focus is improving accessibility and trialling in-carriageway interventions (e.g. dropped kerbs for people using wheelchairs/prams, places to rest, narrowing wide junctions to reduce vehicle speeds etc).
There has been no community consultation.
- Auckland Hill has been selected for the pilot in our area
- We were told this was as a result of data analysis and walking the area.
We now have details of three walkabouts that have been organised and you can book your place on these now. It is not possible to select which - you will be advised which one you have been selected for. The walks are are:
Morning Wednesday 28 June 2023
Morning and Afternoon Thursday 29 June 2023
