The Summer Community Party celebrates 133 years of the Rec which was officially opened in 1890 by the Mayor of Croydon to preserve land for recreational use. Expect crafts, Victorian themed games, face painting, plant & book sale, a tug of war, tombola, a kids Victorian fancy dress competition, drumming and more. Bring CASH and your own picnic!

Includes also a historical walk by the Norwood Society to learn about the history of the Rec and the Harold Road Conservation area including its architecture and colourful lives of former residents: 11:00am -12 noon. Meet outside the Chevening Hub; reserve tickets here on Eventbrite.
