Update 15.09.22: Events planned for Monday 19 September 2022 have been cancelled in view of the State Funeral of HRH The Queen.
Lambeth Heritage Festival seeks to celebrate the extraordinary diverse history of Lambeth. There are walks, talks, tours, performances and other events all around the borough, and most are free. Prior booking is often required.
Download the brochure here, or pick up a brochure at the library.
The Festival is coordinated by Lambeth Archives and the Lambeth Local History Forum, together with other event organisers.
In particular we would highlight:
- The Polish Experience in South London exhibition curated by Karolina Jonc-Buczek at West Norwood Library 1-30 September 2022. The exhibition explores the experiences of Poles who settled in South London shortly after World War II and reflecting on the Polish identity, culture, and heritage through the decades; including Home to Home: Polish community portraits by Urszula Sołtys which confronts Polish stereotypes. Entry is free and open during Library hours.
- The Lambeth Local History Fair - a great opportunity to meet local societies, learn about their work and how to get involved. This year it will be held at St.John's Waterloo Church, 73 Waterloo Road, SE1 8TY on Saturday 4 September 2022; 10:00am-4.30pm.
