Join the Cambridge Social Ventures team for a half-day online practical workshop on Tuesday, 14 June 2022 (9:30am-1pm) to get started on plans for your social enterprise in Lambeth.
In a small group of budding entrepreneurs, they will teach you some basic concepts in business planning, finance and legal structures: the toolkit you need to get your own social enterprise off the ground. You’ll leave the workshop with knowledge and resources you can use straight away, as you take your first steps towards building your new business.
This team of experts from the University of Cambridge has distilled the key concepts they know will help social entrepreneurs get started now on their social enterprise journey into this short, half-day workshop.
All of their training is built with a focus on social impact in the context of creating and scaling a sustainable business. The workshop creates an inclusive, supportive and friendly atmosphere, giving emerging entrepreneurs the opportunity to meet like-minded people and learn from experts.
The ‘Get Started’ workshop is an introduction to some key concepts in business and social enterprise. It covers:
- Business planning, using the popular Business Model Canvas planning framework.
- What makes you a social enterprise? Understanding legal structures that help you embed your social mission alongside your commercial purpose.
- Basics of social finance and raising money to grow your venture: investment, loans, grants and earned income.
This workshop costs £50 (no VAT) per person. If the cost will prevent you from attending, please do talk to the team. Discounts are available for people who are experiencing long term financial hardship. They are also very keen to support people who may have lost their job due to the pandemic.
