Cost of Living Crisis support

There was further devastating news yesterday Friday 26 August 2022 with the announcement by Ofgem, the energy regulator, that the household energy price cap will dramatically increase from £1971 to £3,549 from 1 October 2022. There is expected to be a further rise in January next year. For many people now will be the time to take stock and seek financial support in time for the winter.

We set out below two sources of advice and financial support.

Lambeth Council has published key information online covering support available throughout Lambeth via charities, food banks, local voluntary groups, advice agencies, council staff and local people. You can also read more about the Council's action in response to the crisis here on the Love Lambeth website.

The Mayor of London has a Warmer Homes Programme offering eligible households a grant of up to £25,000 to help with free heating, insulation and ventilation improvements. If you live in London and are a homeowner, landlord or private tenant, you could be eligible to receive a grant to warm your home and reduce your energy bills.
