Volunteering opportunities this week

A bumper load of opportunites from Team Lambeth to volunteer. Locally:

Rathbone Society Inspiring Learning Project - Learning Mentors:

The Project works with disadvantaged young people who are struggling at school and need extra support with their learning.

They are looking for volunteers who can commit an hour a week for at least six months to help a student "between Y7 and Y11" with their homework and/or revision in one subject, for example, English (many students come from households where English is not the first language), Maths, History or Science. Study support sessions are online, with a parent or guardian on-site with the child, usually outside school hours.

The current pandemic has put additional pressure on the lives and education of young people. If you could spare an hour a week to help a child keep up with their learning, Rathbone Youth Centre would like to hear from you.

AgeUK need cooks!

Their My Ho ho ho Volunteers will help fight the battle against loneliness this holiday season. Sign up to be a volunteer and give back to the community this Christmas! Make use of your extra food to give someone the gift of a home cooked holiday meal.

* You will be matched with an isolated person(or people) in your area. * You will be delivered an extra plate to keep (for each person.) * Cook an extra dinner and deliver to the person on Christmas day! * Bring a bit of Christmas joy to someone living by themselves.
