Lambeth Council signs treaty to reduce future use of fossil fuels

Palace road green

Lambeth Council has committed to the Fossil Fuel Non-proliferation Treaty in order to continue tackling climate change in our borough.

The Council has joined a growing number of local governments, corporations, and other large organisations committed to pursuing a future that is less reliant on fossil fuels. The treaty sets a series of commitments required to reduce dependance on oil, gas, and coal so the Council can limit the rise in global temperature to 1.5degrees by 2030, in line with United Nations guidance.
