Lambeth have helpfully shared some Christmas Recycling Tips:
This Christmas, remember to think sustainably to reduce our impact on the environment. Check out our top tips below on reducing your waste and disposing of electrical items and batteries safely.
Recycling wrapping paper
Certain wrapping paper cannot be recycled if it contains things such as glitter, foil and plastic. Most plain wrapping papers are fine to put in your recycling bin, if you aren’t sure, you can perform the scrunch test by scrunching it into a ball and if it stays scrunched, it's usually recyclable.
Recycling old batteries and electrical items
It is important to recycle your old batteries and electrical items correctly this Christmas to ensure both your safety and our frontline workers. Never put batteries or electronics in your recycling or waste bins.
If you live in a kerbside property, you can place them in a bag on top of your recycling bin on the collection day. You can also take them to your nearest recycling centre or collection point. Find your nearest recycling point.
