Better street and urban design - your ideas are sought

Two initiatives, one by Lambeth Council and the other from the Greater London Authority, are seeking ideas to improve neighbourhood streets.

Lambeth streets design competition
Ten locations around Lambeth (but none in Norwood) have been chosen for this competition, funded and supported by Lambeth Council. Right now we all depend on public space more than ever – to get around safely, keep businesses running and to look after our wellbeing through lockdown by spending time outdoors. This is why it is important to deliver a green recovery centred on exciting, safe and distinctive places where people want to be. The competition aims to smash barriers into urban design by empowering you to get creative and design a healthier, greener city for generations to come.
A winner will be announced in each location - ten winners who each receive £750 and will have their design built! There’s detailed guidance to follow and all submissions must be sent by 9am Monday 19 April.

Share your ideas to reimagine London
The Mayor of London has a web page for you to post ideas to reimagine London, ideas on how to improve the places where you live or work. The aim is to produce concrete ideas that will create thriving neighbourhoods within easy reach of all Londoners. Better public spaces and ways for communities to connect, new and exciting uses for vacant or underused buildings on your high streets. Ideas to make your neighbourhood greener, cleaner and fairer than ever before.
Your ideas will provide a way for communities, councils and partners to see what it is that Londoners want to happen, so they can then develop them into plans. The best ideas will have a shot at getting funding to bring them to life. Post yours by June 2021.
