2018 is set to be an exciting year for the StreetWorks scheme - the community led project which is making improvements to Norwood Road and the one-way system in Tulse Hill. For the next couple of months we will be putting the finishing touches to the improvements along Norwood Road. We will need your further help with this, as we want to know where benches, bins and trees should go. More information on this will be coming soon.
We also hope to be able to put in a colourful diagonal crossing design at the Lancaster Avenue/ York Hill and Norwood Road junction crossing. Much like the crossing in Brixton we hope this will add some colour to the high street. We are currently in discussions with the Council and the company who make the materials we need to do this. We will keep you posted.
Unfortunately plans for a pedestrian crossing near Access Self Storage/ Harpenden Road are currently on hold. A complaint has been received about this which means work has had to stop. We realise this is now a dangerous area where people need to cross and we are working with the Council in order to try and resolve this as quickly as possible.
Finally the design work for turning the one way system in Tulse Hill into a two way system continues this year. We heard some worrying news at the end of last year that this could possibly be delayed. However, we understand that there will now be no delays to the scheme - and we hope to have more information from TfL to share with you in the Spring.
