A23 Streatham Hill works

We reported last April on the plans by Transport for London (TfL), in partnership with Lambeth Council, to commence major improvement works on the A23 Streatham Hill corridor. These works will include protected cycle lanes and dedicated bus lanes in both directions. We can now give an update on these works, which are set to continue until spring 2027.

The new road layout will aim to improve bus reliability, and make it easier, safer, and more pleasant for people to walk and cycle in the area, and works commenced in the late summer.

Recent past works have involved overnight road closures, and 24 hour lane restrictions continue. Journeys on the A23 at Streatham Hill and surrounding roads are now taking longer, and parking is suspended. Works are being undertaken at the junctions of Ardwell Road, Barrhill Road, Tierney Road and Telford Avenue until mid-February 2026.
