West Norwood Library update:
Sonia Winifred, Cabinet Member for Equalities & Culture, Councillor for Knights Hill and many years ago an employee of West Norwood Library, has told the Norwood Forum that "concerning libraries and opening, government guidelines are that libraries can open from 4 July. As you can imagine there is a great deal to do in keeping our users safe, therefore library staff are working full on, carrying out risk assessments to enable social distancing, which in many cases means complete rearranging library layouts and adequate sanitisation equipment. The health of all our staff is also extremely important, and risk assessments are being carried out to ensure their safety at all times...…….Due to capacity, health and safety some of our libraries will open in July some will not...…..however I can tell you that West Norwood Library will be one of those opening"
West Norwood Picturehouse update:
Cineworld announced it plans to open its cinemas in the UK and US on 10 July, with social distancing measures in place. It has updated its booking system to ensure social distancing within and throughout its auditoriums; adapted its daily movie schedules to manage queues and avoid crowds in lobbies; and enhanced its cleanliness and sanitation procedures. Chief executive officer Mooky Greidinger said: "We are thrilled to be back and encouraged by recent surveys that show that many people have missed going to the movie theatre.....With a strong slate confirmed for the coming weeks, including among others Tenet, Mulan, A Quiet Place Part II, Wonder Women 1984, Black Widow, Bond, Soul, Top Gun Maverick and many more, the entire Cineworld team remains committed to being 'the best place to watch a movie'."
