Did you know a section of one of the long distance paths around London zig zags from Crystal Palace to Streatham Common? Running mostly just south of the Lambeth borough boundary the walk takes in:
- a remnant of the Great North Wood (Biggin Wood)
- Norwood Grove - a Grade II listed mansion (and former home of two famous people buried in West Norwood Cemetery: Arthur Anderson (of P&O fame) and Frederick Nettlefold (GKN screws; gave land for West Norwood Library and endowed the former Nettlefold Hall (now part of the Picturehouse cinema))
- Rookery Gardens
The Ramblers are relaunching both the Capital Ring and the London Loop by running a series of walks – free and open to all.
The Capital Ring covers 78 miles (126km) of open space, nature reserves, Sites of Specific Scientific Interest and more.
