Rathbone Society Inspiring Learning Mentors

Rathbone Society's Inspiring Learning Project has been running for the last three years and has supported 90 young people.

A significant number of children and young people in Lambeth are from refugee and asylum-seeking families. The pandemic has put additional pressure on the lives and education of these disadvantaged young people and further exacerbated this attainment gap and inequality. Digital poverty has been a big barrier to young people’s access to and full participation in education.

Rathbone are looking for volunteers who can commit an hour a week for at least six months to help a student – between Y7 and Y11– with their homework and/or revision in one subject, for example English (many students come from households where English is not the first language), Maths, History or Science. Study support sessions are online, starting 4pm. onwards.

If you could spare one hour a week to help a child keep up with their learning, Rathbone Youth Centre would like to hear from you.

Lambeth Council's Team Lambeth have also highlighted other availalbe volunteering opportunities here.
