SLT: classes for young people

The South London Theatre has a number of new classes for young people up and coming: 
 
Friday evening Drama class for Young People aged 16 to 18 
Summer course starting on 21 May; runs to 23 July -  6:30 to 8pm cost £90.00 (with limited concession places available)
This is a fantastic opportunity for young people interested in drama or studying drama at school, to learn and practice drama techniques. The course will cover characterisation, script reading and movement for acting. The class is taught by Siobhan, a highly experienced drama teacher, in a relaxed and sociable way.

May Half Term Workshops
South London Theatre are bringing you a packed half term of activities for young people.
Monster Movement and Mask Making - 7 to 10 years - Tuesday 1 June - 10am to 4pm - cost £15
Who doesn't love monsters?! This a fun crash course in movement and masks. A movement piece inspired by monsters and making monster masks wil be created to accompany the piece. A chance to work together as a company, communicating and collaborating with each other to develop a range of movement skills and link them to make actions and sequences of movement - all set to music and ready for a performance at the end of the day!
How to be a Heroine - 12 to 16 years -  Wednesday 2 June - 10am to 4pm - cost £20
This full day workshop will explore characterisation, writing and performance inspired by the fictional characters that are loved the most. Focusing on exploring the character of one of your favourite heroines from childhood, giving them a new life beyond the confines of their book!  An interactive session with Callie, a founding artistic director of The Heroine Chronicles theatrical company.
Improvisation  Skills - 14 to 18 years - Wednesday 2 June - 10am to 12.30pm - cost £12
This interactive workshop will enable young people to explore and develop skills and create a story using improvisation. Improv allows young people to adapt their dramatic skills and respond to situations and characterisation on the stage. Taught by experienced improvisation actor, director and drama teacher Victor Correia (currently working on 'The Prince of Egypt').
Scene study and Monologue workshop -  14 to 18 years - Thursday 3 June - 10am to 4pm - - cost £20
For young people who want to delve into the nitty-gritty of a scene/monologue. Make strong choices. Work on risk, intensity, and dynamic characters Develop your skills in delivering powerful monologues. 
Taught by actor, director and drama teacher Victor Correia (currently working on 'The Prince of Egypt')  
Mini theatres workshop -- 7 to 10 years  Thursday 3 June - 10 to 11:30am - cost £5
A face to face, creative workshop using your imagination to create a mini theatre using a shoebox and recyclable materials. Children will create characters to act in their theatre.  All resources will be supplied.
