Stay safe in the extreme hot weather

A very hot weekend is forecast, with the possibility of some rain as a relief from Monday.  A Level 3 Heat-Health Alert was issued by the Met Office and UKHSA this week to warn of extreme hot weather across London and other parts of the country.

During the hot spell its important to take care of yourself and others to make sure we all stay safe during the extreme heat. Some ways to stay safe in the heat include:

  • Check on people most at risk in the heat
  • Stay hydrated
  • If outdoors: wear sunscreen, a hat and other suitable clothing and find shaded areas

Also, due to an unprecedented number of grass fires, London Fire Brigade has warned against barbecues on balconies as well as in open spaces and given other advice on things we can all do to reduce fire risk.
