Superloop expansion - new route SL15 approved

Transport for London (TfL) has approved plans for the expansion of the Superloop express bus network in south London, with a brand-new route: SL15 linking Clapham Junction and Eltham stations via the A205 South Circular Road.

Back in October 2025 we published a story on the proposals and public consultation arrangements, and also details of our joint submission with Station to Station and Norwood Action Group.

Its great news that this new service is going to be running through our area, connecting us with Clapham Junction in the west and as far as Eltham eastwards.

We are also pleased our proposal to introduce stops for the existing SL6 at Tulse Hill gyratory has been agreed - the service will also serve bus stops E and G to improve interchange with the SL15 and other routes. Here's a TfL map of the proposals on the ground at the Tulse Hill gyratory, and a full list of the SL15 bus stops.

TfL have decided not to reroute the SL15 in West Norwood via Lancaster Avenue which would have allowed the use of double-deck buses. TfL say, following careful evaluation, this decision reflects the need to preserve express journey times and route reliability, while balancing the significant additional operational costs such changes would require.

The SL15 route is expected to launch during 2027. It will operate:
  • Every 12 minutes during Monday to Saturday daytimes
  • Every 15 minutes during Sundays, evenings, and early mornings
  • Using single-deck buses
