A new acute medical unit is being developed at King's College Hospital, Denmark Hill and this is your chance to give your views on what will work best at the new unit.
The unit will be for patients who come to the A&E department and need to have tests or be observed for up to 48 hours. It aims to reduce the amount of time these patients have to spend in A&E and help them to see the right medical specialists more quickly. GPs will also be able to refer patients to the unit. This should help patients to get home faster if they don't need to be admitted to a hospital ward. Work is underway to design the unit and how it will be run, including the staff that are needed, ahead of its planned opening in 2023.
King's College Hospital wants to give patients and local people the best possible experience of care if they need to come to the unit. This is why they are talking to them about what is most important to them and their families. They would like to know what is most important to you/your relatives if you need to use the unit. So, on Thursday 19 May 2022, join MYsocial's Paul Springer at this Lambeth Age UK online Good to Know session with staff representatives from King's College Hospital, where you can hear more about the plans for the unit, put questions to the reps and give your views on what would make the unit work best.
To book simply register here on the MYsocial website, or call their team on 020 3143 5695 by midnight on Wednesday 18 May.
